How to care for silk accessories?

The five golden rules for silk:

Hand wash in cool water – Maximum temperature 30°C. Use a mild detergent, preferably one designed for silk.
Ironing? Yes, but with care – Iron on the reverse side, at a low temperature, preferably through a thin fabric (e.g. a cotton cloth). Never iron whilst wet!
Dry cleaning is also an option – Especially for larger or more luxurious scarves – leave them to the professionals.
No rubbing, no spinning – Do not wring or scrub – silk cannot stand rough treatment. After washing, gently blot with a towel and dry flat.
Avoid tumble drying and direct sunlight – Heat and UV rays are silk’s worst enemies.
